Rose in Gypsy: A Musical Fable
Cornish College of the Arts - April 2026
"This production will envision Gypsy: a Musical Fable as a memory play. Imagine the lights come up in silence with Louise - Gypsy Rose Lee - frozen in a moment of reckoning - does she walk away from her mother forever, or does she make peace and find a way forward?
Themes/ideas we will be engaging with include: the complexities of Mother/Daughter relationships, what it was to be in the show biz world in and out of the Great Depression & what was the risk then vs the risk now, what is the nature of memory, what were gender expectations and roles at the time of the play, and what is it to pull away from a parent or parent figure and strike out on one’s own."

About (click to view)
Before getting my BFA, most of my theatre experience came from my home town: Gig Harbor, WA. This is where I found my love for theater and grew in my artistic endeavors from ages 6-16. I took dance classes such as jazz, lyrical, and tap, and also took group voice lessons during this time; I went private at age 16, focusing on classical and musical theater styles.
Once I entered adulthood, I spent one year at university, took a gap year, and found myself in Seattle. Cornish has given me beautiful stretch marks across my brain as I have grown as a singer, actor, and have made leaps and bounds as a dancer (pun intended). I am ready to use the skills I have learned over the past three years as I enter the professional world.
